Docetaxel contains AlcoholAs if patients that need to take docetaxel don't already have enough to worry about, the FDA is making notice that patients on docetaxel should keep in mind that the drug has alcohol in it and it can be intoxicating. They place other warnings like do not operate heavy machinery, drive, or do anything else you shouldn't do while drinking. I know someone that has driven themselves to and from the treatment center and could not help but think of him. He is not a heavy drinker so you would figure he'd feel the effects of alcohol.

I would assume that patients only need to be concerned on the day of treatment, correct? For example, treatment on Friday...work on Monday...
Would make for an interesting traffic stop.

Standard rules on alcohol here, Jerry. Be responsible. Always docetaxel in moderation. Don't docetaxel and drive. And men should not docetaxel if they are pregnant. Although I can recall a young lady who did docetaxel while pregnant. This was one of the most touching stories I came across in my journey as an advocate. Lorie Johnson's Story and JournalNow that's sobering!
