Interesting. JAMA checks in on cancer drug costs at around $648m. But as you see in the article it's all over the place to estimate costs to bring cancer drugs to market. But that may be understandable that companies do not report failed attempts to bring a new standard of care to market. If it's 648m to be successful it's probably many times that to clear the drugs that didn't make it to market. So next comes the drug pricing. In prostate cancer, for example, there are 2.6 million men living with the diagnosis today. More than half probably won't start with a direct intervention anymore. And most that do will likely have a radical procedure done. And half of the will never have to take a drug like Xtandi or Zytigay both of which cost over 6500.00 for a monthly prescription. If you have an 80/20 plan, it's still around 2k and above out of pocket to take the drugs, And I know a lot of men taking these drugs for years. From JAMA: Click Here
