There are a lot of reasons I had to stop this forum. But we are back on track.
Prostate cancer and the treatment of it continue to evolve. Clinical evidence has changed a bit bit it's very slow moving. I have signed up to many organization to understand the changes and I find that the many organizations are slow to adapt clinical changes. And rightfully so. Start this month we will be posting new clinical approaches to treatment. They are not going to be supported by Level 1 evidence. But they need to be talked about with anyone that considers themselves a patient advocate.
For example:
Clinical use of imaging systems can detect more advanced or aggressive disease is a claim by many to move beyond active surveillance.
Conversely, imagine systems can be use to eliminate advanced disease to set a path of active surveillance.
Both are correct.
What is missing is clinical trial data to verify that either is correct.
I will be sticking to this theme moving on.
Clinical trials do not move with what the public expects to be done. They are slow, taking many years, and typically have data that wasn't expected. We can do better with this understanding.
It's time to re-activate this forum. It's time to re-activate advocate thinking.
I will post weekly new ideas being discussed. Thanks you all for following. Back in business.
