Well, he stops just short of saying this himself, in his own words, but makes a strong point when he says: “For a man with prostate cancer, a single decision can change his entire life. When I was diagnosed with prostate cancer, I faced a game-changing decision. While I chose surgery, a less aggressive approach called active surveillance might be the best choice.”
See Joe (HERE) in this Your Prostate Your Decision public service video co-sponsored by PHEN (Prostate Health Education Network), ZERO, MHN (Men's Health Network)and Genomic Health (makers of Oncotype DX).
Finally...something good comes out of Prostate Cancer Awareness Month.
Also, alarming, but not totally surprising, (so maybe it's just 'troubling') misconceptions regarding prostate cancer risk are revealed in the "first-of-its-kind national survey" in the link.

My main concern with this ad campaign is that it leads one to believe that the choices are either surgery or active surveillance. No mention of the fact that are many other treatment options and that each patient needs to spend some time educating himself and finding the treatment protocol that best suits him and his particular PCa.
But it's a good start. I'd just like to see some follow-up ads that make it clear there are other options.
