Thank you to Jan Manarite at PCRI for inviting me to a luncheon at last weeks conference. Johnson & Johnson hosted the lunch & learn focused on providing information on how to get financial assistance to those who may need it. These are links and agencies that can help deliver financial aid for out of pocket expenses for insured and uninsured. Many of these options have been available and are under utilized. I have more information coming.
From Jan:
"Hi Everyone. This is a follow-up to the Mentoring Lunch last Saturday at the PCRI Conference in LA.
Peggy Mellody and Ellen Ivey always deliver excellent, usable information for those of us trying to help other patients. This is their 3rd year offering this educational lunch at PCRI Conference, and the previous years focused on Insurance Appeals and Exceptions. Please email me if you would like those .pdf's also.
The brochure and flashcard that Peggy referenced at the Mentoring Lunch are attached here. Use them, forward them, whatever you like. They are tools meant to help patients.
ALSO - Here is the link to the Advocacy Connector website that Ellen highlighted at the Mentoring Lunch. I hope these tools are helpful to you.
I will be emailing you this week with an invitation to a follow-up conference call with Peggy and Ellen, to make more time for Q & A, which might make even more sense after you've had time to digest some of the information in the attached .pdf's. Please look over the attached documents, and email me any questions you may have. We will use them on the conference call, but also just make time for some conversations. LOOK FOR MY INVITATION THIS WEEK.
Glad you can be part of this, and thanks for all you do for patients.
Best Regards,
